Environmental Protection at Terrasystem
Runoff Coefficient
The runoff coefficient is the ratio of effective precipitation to total precipitation. It defines the amount of rainfall that ultimately flows off after a rain event, after deducting wetting losses, infiltration losses, evaporation losses, and storage losses.
A surface by Terra System GmbH has a runoff coefficient of 0, which corresponds to 100% infiltration. A gravel lawn, for example, has a runoff coefficient of 0.2–0.3. A coefficient of 1 means no water infiltrates. Asphalt or concrete surfaces have a coefficient of 0.9 — almost all water runs off the surface. Grass pavers fall in between with a coefficient of 0.4 to 0.5.
Environmentally friendly — no leaching.
Compared to asphalt, no environmentally harmful substances are leached from Terra System GmbH building materials. The composites are 100% reusable. Terra System GmbH products are therefore classified in water hazard class 0 with the corresponding safety certificate.

Sustainability

Terra System GmbH defines ecological sustainability as the goal of preserving nature and the environment for future generations. This includes maintaining biodiversity, protecting the climate, preserving cultural and natural landscapes in their original form, and generally treating the natural environment with care.
Economic sustainability postulates that the economy is structured to provide a permanently viable basis for income and prosperity. Of particular importance is the protection of economic resources from exploitation.
Terra System GmbH creates value for sustainable development in the field of modern, ecologically oriented building materials.
This in conjunction with economic sustainability. Terra System GmbH feels responsible for ecologically lasting developments to protect ecological and economic resources from exploitation.
